Two children among 51 illegals nabbed in Ampang raid

KUALA LUMPUR: A foreign couple hid in the roof of the house they were staying in to avoid being detained by authorities in a pre-dawn swoop on illegals in Ampang on Saturday.

They were among the 125 foreigners checked in the operation around Taman Datuk Ahmad Razali.

Ampang Jaya Deputy OCPD Supt Amiruddin Jamaluddin said the operation was carried out due to the public complaints about the huge number of foreigners in the vicinity.

The two-hour operation nabbed 51 foreigners, including two Indonesian children and a Myanmar man.

The operation was jointly conducted by authorities from the police, Immigration Department, the Ampang Jaya local council and Rela. - The Star
